Troubleshooting: If the camera cannot capture ingredients or barcodes

Scanning problems with the InTolerApp? Here are solutions! 🛠️


Hello 👋 Having trouble scanning ingredients or barcodes with the InTolerApp? Don't worry, I've put together some helpful steps for you here.


1. reinstall the app 🔄


Sometimes a fresh start helps:


  • Delete the app completely from your device
  • Restart your smartphone
  • Reinstall the app via the Play Store or App Store
  • Important: Give the app permission to access your camera


2. note the contents 👀


  • For barcode scan: Position the barcode in the center of the image section
  • For Ingredients: Make sure that the camera language matches the language on the packaging


3. activate camera V2 🔍


If the previous steps do not work, try the following:


  • Open the InTolerApp settings
  • Scroll all the way down
  • Activate the “Camera V2” option
  • Return to the scanner

Note: This camera version is still in the testing phase and may occasionally contain errors.

  • Mobile phone model: e.g. iPhone 15
  • App version: e.g. 2.2.0
